Road Safety Campaign

Scientific researches show that brake fluid which hasn't been replaced in several years may contain up to 8% water. Absorbed water causes a decrease in the boiling point of the brake fluid. This in turn causes a decrease in the safety margin of the brake fluid – danger of steam bubbles in the brake system or in other words – spongy brake pedal
Our aim is to raise the awareness of drivers, mechanics and car-repair shop owners towards the risks of neglected brake fluid change and through that to influence the road safety and decrease the number of road accidents in Bulgaria.
Through extensive communication channels and non standard approach we warn the public about the risks of neglecting the regular brake fluid test and change.
So far 31 car repair shops and auto centers have been equipped with a free Boiling point meter and a Brake Fluid Filling device as a kit as well as leaflets and brochures.
Leaflets and brochures are distributed to the Traffic Police Divisions all over the country and to Petrol AD network as well, short video describing the campaign is shown on the cash register monitors in the all 300 filling stations.
Roadworthiness and especially the condition of the vehicle’s brakes is of a great
importance for road safety. The "Rely on Your Brakes! Don’t Break the Life! “ campaign is the first of its kind in Bulgaria with such focus and aims to raise the awareness of the public on the prevention of accidents caused by expired brake fluid.
This campaign is conducted in partnership with
